Even though there is more choice in winter you can enjoy the European ski experience all year round with Glacier resorts offering summer skiing. Europe offers the skier premier conditions with a distinctly European flavor for "après ski".

Most South American ski resorts begin operations in mid-June and close in September or October. The most popular resorts are in Argentina and Chile but there are locations in Bolivia, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela.

The ski season in New Zealand is generally from May to early November. There are twelve main commercial ski resorts that offer a unique skiing experience. Imagine skiing down a mountain with a view of the Pacific Ocean and green pastures below. August is the peak month for skiing, while from June 25 to July 11 the slopes are usually the most crowded due to school holidays.

For the more adventurous backcountry skiing is growing in popularity; the thrill of fresh powder, challenging runs, the tranquility and no lift lines, are attracting more and more skiers and snowboarders. Backcountry is basically adventuring beyond the ski area boundaries. This can be an exciting adventure that will bring you closer to nature but always ski with a group with at least some members having solid experience in the sport and the region.

The kit contains necessary details about the destination place such as: geographical information, political situation, visa requirements, vaccinations, currency and exchange rates, time, electricity, credit cards, American and Canadian embassy addresses and telephones, transportation, local telephones, local holidays, health, food, natural and recreational hazards, local maps, dangers and annoyances and much more.
