One must evaluate if the party has a core group of hunters who have dealt with the terrain and animals that will be encountered on the trip. If the hunting trip party lacks experience either in the terrain or the game being tracked this can lead to an unsuccessful hunt or even a tragic one with someone being injured or worse.

Another advantage of using an outfitter for your hunting trip is that proper gear for the trip will be available. Depending on the game you are after the outfitter can supply you with equipment that would be very expensive for a single particular hunting trip. An experienced outfitter who will have the proper horses, supplies and vehicles that will be needed for a successful hunting trip; he will supply particular equipment for a particular environment.
